The Durban July is a race that grips a nation on the first Saturday of every July and millions are bet on the outcome.
With a purse of R3.5 million for 2014, it is easily Africa's richest race and public interest grows from an early stage reaching a crescendo on raceday, which this year will be on Saturday 5 July.
On that date, over £50,000 racegoers will pack Greyville Racecourse near Durban for a truly magical day consisting of 12 mega-rich races, and finding the winner of the big race is their prerogative.
